THE CATECHISM IN A YEAR!

Join Father Ben and a big group of parishioners at Our Lady of the Visitation as we learn and grow in understanding about our Catholic Faith by listening to a podcast for about 15-20 minutes a day (that equals only about 2-3 pages of the Catechism, which is not much!).

Father Mike Schmitz, who led a podcast two years ago that was beautiful and still free for everyone – The Bible in a Year – has decided to help everyone go a little deeper in our understanding of what the Catholic Church teaches by reading a tiny bit of the Catechism every day.  Father Mike is very enjoyable to listen to because of his authenticity, his humor, his knowledge of the faith, and also his profound insights and application of the faith to every day life. The event will be mostly a Q&A event for Fr. Ben, and anyone can certainly show up even if they have not kept up with this podcast or read any of the Catechism in their lives!  Please come, and we will be in touch about future events as well.  PLEASE SEE THE CHURCH BULLETIN FOR MEETING DATES AND TIMES! THANK YOU!

Run with a Priest! (...or walk or bike!)

Everyone is invited to meet right outside the Social Hall entrance around 9:45 am where we will say a prayer at 10:00 am and then go for a short run on the rail trail that exists right next to the Church property.  We will have the social hall open as our home base throughout the morning (the official event time will be from 10 am - 12 pm), so feel free to stop in for some water and maybe even some coffee as well!  This is once again just an idea to try to get people together and grow as a parish family.  Please invite friends to come as well, and I'll be excited to see you there!  Thank you, and God Bless you!

Veteran's Luncheon hosted by 8th grade and Mrs JoAnn Garman

Sunday, November 14th, 2021

The OLV OktoberFest will be on Saturday the 7th of October after the 5 pm mass.  The menu will consist of fresh Kielbasa, Pierogi, Halupki (stuffed cabbage rolls) and Polish Casserole (a blend of sauerkraut, noodles, cream of mushroom soup, sauteed onions and mushrooms).  The event is BYOB, but please be responsible with the beverages.  Polka music will be played after dinner for entertainment and dancing.  The cost of the meal is $10 for adults, $5 for students and free for those 5 years of age and younger.  A sign up sheet will be in the back of the church until the weekend of September 30th and October 1st.

Potluck Sunday Lunch

Something that most of us share in common is enjoying good food along with good company for a relaxing meal!  Every 3rd Sunday, we will be having a Potluck Sunday Lunch immediately following the 11:00 am Mass (so starting around noon or 12:15 pm).  There is certainly no ongoing commitment to be involved in this, so each month every person and every family can decide if they would like to come and attend according to their schedule.  As long as families do their best to bring a dish or meal with them to be shared (the parish will supply water, juice, and coffee), we should end up with an enjoyable potluck lunch for everyone to partake in.  There will be a table already setup in the social hall with plugs available if needed, and if you would like to use the warming oven to keep something warm ahead of time, please contact me at frbdunkelberger@hbgdiocese.org so we can have that ready for the Sunday it will be necessary.  This could also develop into something more than just a lunch, but I wanted to encourage people to simply come together for a Sunday meal as a parish family and enjoy good food and good company to help us grow together as a community!
